The Serbian National Register of Internet Domain Names (RNIDS) is reminding internet users, and in particular registrants of .YU domain names, that the .YU country code Top Level Domain (ccTLD) will stop functioning on 30 September 2009 at midnight, in accordance with a decision from ICANN.
The transition from .YU Internet domains to new .RS domains was finalised at the beginning of May 2009. Approximately 4,000 domains within the old YU register are still functioning. There are about 50,000 registered .RS domains at the moment.
