Yahoo’s mobile users will soon outnumber its desktop users, a shift that will put pressure on the aging Internet portal to make money from smartphones and tablets.By year-end, Yahoo will get more of its traffic from mobile devices than desktop, Chief Executive Marissa Mayer said today during an interview at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference in New York. The company says it now has 430 million mobile users, up 43% from a year ago. Assuming Yahoo’s desktop users remain flat at about 700 million, Ms. Mayer is projecting mobile usage to grow more than 60% over the next eight months.
