Yahoo is no longer in serious talks with Microsoft over a deal to combine their search efforts, Carol Bartz, Yahoo’s chief executive, said on Wednesday. But she acknowledged that negotiations between the two companies were continuing “a little bit”.The internet group’s head said a deal could still be struck if Yahoo got access to the right data from a Microsoft-led combination and “if there’s a boatload of money”. She added that Yahoo’s 20 per cent share of the search market was enough to be significant for the overall experience at the company’s pages, which are the most visited on the web.
