Uniregistry Wipe-Out on Weekly Sales Chart with Kombucha.com Up Top

Domain Name Journal logoThe growth in popularity of kombucha, a type of “fermented, lightly effervescent sweetened black or green tea drinks” with some supposed health benefits (according to Wikipedia) has resulted in a big six-figure domain name sale, that of kombucha.com, which topped the Domain Name Journal weekly sales chart for the week ending 17 September.

The domain name sold for $200,000 in a sale through Uniregistry which was announced on 19 September in a news release detailing their 2017 sales to date. Uniregistry said they had sold 3617 domains totalling more than $29,000,000 in the first 8 months of 2017.

There were 5 six-figure sales announced on the weekly sales chart, all through Uniregistry. The other 4 were squeeze.com ($150,000), hebe ($125,000), masterplan.com ($117,650), rra.com and usedcarsforsale.com (both $100,000).

With the release of the Uniregistry sales, Uniregistry did a complete wipe-out of the chart, and with a 5-way tie for 20th place, took out the 24 positions on the Uniregistry sales chart. On the TLD side of things there ere 22 .com sales and 2 .net sales.
