With the by-line that “delay is a fact of life at ICANN” and that “dates are subject to change”, Minds + Machines have published a new timeline for the introduction of new generic Top Level Domains. The timeline follows a post-Nairobi webinar from ICANN board member Bruce Tonkin.Coming up in the next couple of months, and supposedly before the late June ICANN Brussels meeting, the timeline says is the fourth draft of the Applicant Guidebook, then a comment phase and later this year, possibly December, the final version of the Applicant Guidebook.Around the second quarter of 2011, the timeline suggests there will be an application window and in February 2012, Minds + Machines suggest domain names in the new gTLDs will be available for registration. To see the timeline with all of their suggested dates and stages, go to www.mindsandmachines.com/wp-content/uploads/ICANN-Timeline-2010-03.png.
