The mobile games industry had a shaky start – but the latest platforms are opening up the market and creating new opportunitiesIn 2006 the world’s largest games company, Electronic Arts, signed its biggest-ever deal and acquired the mobile games company Jamdat for $680m (then £395m).For mobile games companies it represented credibility in the face of ongoing derision from the traditional console and games industry.
