The Christmas/new year period saw Domain Name Journal compile one report on top reported sales for the 3 weeks to 5 January. And unusually it was a ccTLD domain name that topped the chart â ticket.ca which sold for C$100,000 ($77,000) through eMall.ca.
Coming in second and third for the 3 week period was
touhou.com and oge.com, which sold for $75,000 and $62,000 respectively through
Sedo.
Sedo took out 7 sales on the top 20 chart, Uniregistry 6
(one in conjunction with New.life) and NameJet 3. On the top-level domain side
of things there were 14 .com sales, 2 for .net and one each for .ca, .money, .org
and .co.uk.

Wanda.com sold for $83,817 through NameJet to top the Domain Name Journal chart of top reported domain name sales for the week ending 1 December, beating out brgroup.com ($30,000 through Sedo) and a pair of 3 letter domains â uml.com and ast.net â which surprisingly particularly in the case of the former sold for $21,400 and $20,000 through NameJet and Uniregistry respectively.
As usual .com dominated the top-level domains with 16 on the
top 20 chart with one each for .net, .co, .shop and .ai. For the aftermarket
outlets there were NameJet took out 8 sales, Sedo 6, Uniregistry 4 and
SnapNames 2.

The summer hiatus for domain name sales is still underway and for the sixth week in a row there were no domain name sales topping the six-figure mark! In the week ending 8 September the top reported domain name sale was growingpower.org, which sold for $45,999 through SnapNames according to Domain Name Journal.
Coming in second was dynamicinsight.com which sold for $28,500
through DomainMarket while enjoytravel.com, which sold for $25,300 just pipped veggie.com
($25,000), both sold through Uniregistry.
On the aftermarket side of things there were 8 sales through
Uniregistry, 6 through NameJet including one in the NameJet/ROTD NamesCon
Europe Auction and unusually low 4 sales through Sedo in the top 21 (there was
a tie for 20th place).
On the top-level domain side of things there were 18 .com sales,
two for .org and one for .net.

The biggest sale for the week ending 8 September on the Domain Name Journal chart of top reported sales was growingpower.org which sold for $45,999 through SnapNames.

and Uniregistry respectively.
Despite not taking out the top spot, .com still dominated
the top-level domains with 18 of the top 21 sales â there was a tie for 20th
place â while there were 2 .org sales and one for .net.
On the aftermarket side of things there were 8 sales through
Uniregistry, 5 through NameJet plus another at the NameJet/ROTD NamesCon Europe
Auction, 4 through Sedo and 2 through SnapNames.
There werenât any six-figure sales for the week ending 5 May on Domain Name Journalâs chart of top reported sales, but 9j.com took out the top spot in a $60,400 sale brokered by SnapNames followed by heir.com ($55,000 through BQDN) and centric.com ($46,000 through Sedo).
On the top-level domain (TLD) side of things, there were 18
.com and one each for a .kr and a .de internationalised domain name. On the aftermarket
side of things there were 8 sales through NameJet, 6 sales through Sedo, 4
sales through SnapNames and 2 through BQDN.
Snake.com sold for $135,000 through BQDN to be the biggest seller on the Domain Name Journal chart for the week ending 7 April. It was about double that of the second biggest reported sale of the week, that of fusionbank.com, which sold for £50,000 ($65,500) through Sedo while smart.co came in third, selling for $52,820 through Aishwin.com/Uniregistry.
On the aftermarket side of things it was a mixed bag but
Sedo came out on top by numbers of sales with 9 while NameJet had 4. For the
top-level domains, there were 15 .com sales with one each for .co, .ca, .co.uk,
.win and .org.

For 2 weeks in a row the top domain name sale on the Domain Name Journal chart only reached $50,000. And then this week there were 5 six-figure sales! The sales were all part of the NameJet and partner RightOfTheDot.com (ROTD) who had a live event staged at the 2019 NamesCon Global conference in Las Vegas in late January.
The top seller was ol.com which sold for $900,000 followed
by leads.com ($435,000), domainnames.com ($370,000), djs.com ($130,000) and
stop.com ($110,000). There were even 3 more that beat the biggest sales for each
of the past 2 weeks â boot.com and mywebsite.com (both selling for $70,000
through Sedo and the NameJet/ROTD/NamesCon Auction respectively while
investingmoney.com sold for $55,000 through Sedo.
There were 11 sales through the NameJet/ROTD/NamesCon
Auction in the top 20 reported sales for the week ending 10 March, another 2
through NameJet themselves and 6 through Sedo. In the top 20 there were 18 .com
sales and one each for .net and .de.
There werenât any six-figure domain name sales on the Domain Name Journal chart of top reported sales for the week ending 10 February with the biggest sale being pwa.com, which sold for $88,200 through Sedo.
Second and third were 7525.com which sold for $59,999 and
detect.com ($57,600) sold through NameJet and Sharjil Saleem/VPN.com
respectively.
NameJet took out the honours for the most sales on the top
20 chart with 10 while Sedo had 8. On the TLD side of things there were 18 .com
sales and one each for .de and .global.

In the final chart of 2018, covering the period 17 December to 6 January, there was a huge 7 figure sale of dxl.com, selling for $1.150 million in a private sale and catapulting to third place in the Domain Name Journal chart of top reported sales for 2018. The buyer of the domain name was DestinationXL which Domain Name Journal reports as being a big and tall men’s clothing store that had used DXLG.com as a shortcut to DestinationXL.com. DXL is also a match for their DXL Men’s Apparel brand.
In the 3 week period there were also 3 six figure sales: taxes.com which sold for $250,000 through Sedo, surround.com ($150,000 through LegalBrandMarketing) and chivalry.com ($100,000 in another private sale).
There were 16 .com sales in the top 20, 2 for .net and one each for .in and .co. On the aftermarket side of things there were 10 sales through Sedo and 4 through NameJet.

Donuts took out the top sale of the fortnight ending 2 December, selling online.casino for a whopping $510,000 in what turned out to be the equal tenth biggest sale of 2018.
The next 2 sales on the chart of top reported domain name sales compiled by Domain Name Journal were 864.com and 1m.com, selling for $147,000 and $112,000 respectively through NameJet.
Overall NameJet had 5 sales on the top 20 chart, only bested by Sedo with 11. On the TLD side of things there were 14 .com sales and one each for .casino, .es, .org, .de, .com.br and .cn.
