Half Million Dollar Two-Letter .COM Sale Tops Weekly Chart

Domain Name Journal logoThe fourth biggest reported sale for the year to date topped the latest Domain Name Journal chart – the sale of qe.com for $554,000 through eNaming/MediaOptions.

Shorter .com domains dominated the chart for the week ending 19 July and there were three six figure sales, the other two being 9595.com for $180,000 in a private sale and tie.com for $125,000 through Heritage Auctions.

Overall there were 14 sales of domains with four characters or less, and 18 of the top 20 were .com domains. The other two were a .ca and .co.

And on the aftermarket outlets, there were 14 sales through Heritage Auctions and four through Sedo.

Third Week of Six Figure Sales Topping Charts

Domain Name Journal logoFor the third week in a row, a six-figure domain name sale has topped the Domain Name Journal chart of top reported sales for the week ending 8 March.

The top selling domain for the week was luxe.com, which sold for $172,500, more than $100,000 above the second biggest sale, generational.com, which sold through Sedo in a $70,000 sale. And third was smartwatches.com, again through Heritage Auctions, in a $35,000 sale.

The two Heritage Auctions sales helped push the total revenues from the Heritage Auctions live event at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel past the $1.2 million mark, with 18 of the 27 names offered now having changed hands, according to Domain Name Journal.

On the aftermarkets, there were 15 sales through Sedo and another two through Flippa. And on the TLD side of things, there were 15 .com sales and one each for .gr, .co, .de and .net.

Three Six-Figure Heritage Auction Sales Top Weekly Sales Chart

Domain Name Journal logoHeritage Auctions took out the top three sales on the Domain Name Journal chart of top reported sales for the week ending 1 March, with nl.com coming out tops with a very nice $575,000 sale, the third largest sale to date in 2015 and easily eclipsing the rest of the sales for the week.

Coming in second was classic.com, which sold for a very nice $172,500 while 8.co came in third with a $115,000 sale.

The Heritage Auction sales came in a live auction in New York City and saw them take out six sales in the top 20 for the week, but in numbers if not value NameJet came out bigger with ten sales for the week, while Sedo had three sales.

On the TLD side of things, .com was particularly dominant with 18 of the top 20 sales, while there was one each for .co and .net.

Cuteness Tops Weekly Domain Sales Chart

Domain Name Journal logoCute.com was the big seller in the Domain Name Journal weekly sales chart, which actually covered the fortnight to 28 September.

The domain sold for $230,000 through Heritage Auctions while koko.com also sold for a nice six-figure sum, selling for CNY620,000 ($100,440) through eName, in a good sale in the Chinese aftermarket.

And third was dec.com, selling for $57,500 in another sale through Heritage Auctions.

In the top 20 sales over the two week period, there were 17 .com sales along with one each for .tv, .org and .de.

On the aftermarket outlets, Sedo was responsible for seven sales while Heritage Auctions and MostWantedDomains had five sales each.

Quartet Of Six-Figure Sales Tops Weekly Chart

Domain Name Journal logoA quartet of six-figure domain name sales topped the Domain Name Journal chart of top reported sales in the week ending 20 July, with py.com coming tops selling for $358,000 through Heritage Auctions.

In the second of the six-figure sales, dots.com sold for $325,000 through Hilco Streambank while hy.com was third selling for $320,000 also through Heritage Auctions and statement.com was fourth selling for $140,000 in a private sale. Not quite making the six-figure mark was gca.com, selling for $90,000 through Sedo.

There were a total of 12 sales through Sedo in the top 20 chart with the remainder scattered through a range of outlets including two through Heritage Auctions and Flippa had a hand in another two.

On the TLD side of things, there were 15 .com sales including the top nine as well as two .de and one each for .tv, .info and .org.

Domain Sales Chart Topped By Six Six-Figure Sales

Domain Name Journal logoThe pre-christmas lull came to an end in the previous week with three six-figure sales, and in the week ending 15 December there was a boom with six six-figure sales on the Domain Name Journal chart of top reported sales!

The top seller was jobs.ca selling for a very useful $450,000 through Sedo. The next three sales were all brokered by Heritage Auctions, with qr.com, xz.com and animation.com selling for $230,000, $138,000 and $112,125 respectively.

Then in fifth and sixth positions were musique.com and pizza.nl, which both sold for €75,000 ($103,500) in sales brokered by Sedo.

Heritage Auctions had a very good week with seven of the top 20 sales, the same as Sedo, while the GoDaddy/Afternic tie-up had four sales.

On the TLD side of things, there were 16 .com sales and one each for .ca, .nl, .co.uk and .me.
