Hot Dogs! HOTDOG.COM Tops Weekly Sales Chart in Six-Figure Sale

Domain Name Journal logoHotdog.com continued a string of six-figure sales that have topped the Domain Name Journal chart of top reported sales for the week ending 28 June, selling for a very handy $150,000 through Flippa and Brannans.

The sale easily eclipsed the second biggest sale, filament.com, which sold for $89,000 through Sedo and then btcc.com, which sold for $58,000 through DomainHoldings.

Sedo had a hand in 15 of the top 21 sales (there was a tie for 20th place) while Flippa had a hand in five.

On the TLD side of things there were 16 .com sales and one each for .io, .net, .org, .tv and .info.

Another Week For A Trio Of Six-Figures Sales To Top Chart

Domain Name Journal logoThree short .com domains selling for six figures topped the Domain Name Journal chart of top reported sales for the week ending 26 April.

The biggest sale was pax.com, selling for $200,000 through Sedo while h6.com and 9555.com sold for $115,500 and $102,000 respectively, both through eNaming. And the top five sales were four character or less .com domains.

Overall Sedo had a good week when it came to total sale numbers, having a hand in 15 of the top 21 sales – there was a tie for 20th place – while Flippa had three sales. And there were 17 .com sales, including the top ten, while there was one each for .info, .me, .am and .org.

Big Domain Sales Take a Break In Weekly Chart

Domain Name Journal logoThe biggest reported domain sale for the week ending 12 April wasn’t… very big! It was the $49,000 sale of rizk.com in a private sale. And yes, while not a big sale, I’m sure the seller was still quite happy.

Coming in second was kelepir.com, selling for $40,000 through AlanAdlari while hse.com continued the strong three-letter .com sales of recent months coming in third, selling for $34,000.

There were nine three-letter .com sales in the top 20, two four letter .com sales and two five-letter .com sales.

Sedo was the biggest aftermarket outlet in sales with 11 while Flippa had four AlanAdlari had two.

And on the TLD side of things, there were 18 .com sales including the top 16 sales and one each for .co.uk and .io.

Three-Letter .COM Domains Dominate Weekly Sales Chart

Domain Name Journal logoThere were 14 three-letter .com domains on the Domain Name Journal chart of the 20 top reported sales for the week ending 5 April, with due.com topping the chart, selling for $130,000 through Flippa.

Second was another six-figure sale – mercari.com – selling for €100,000 ($108,000) while sportsmarket.com came in third, selling for $65,000. Both sold through Sedo.

The rise in prices and demand for three-letter .com sales has been observed by DNJ in recent months.

Sedo had a hand in ten of the top 20 sales while NameJet had a hand in eight. And unusually .com sales took out all 20 positions on the chart.

Car.info Tops Sales Chart, But No Six-Figure Sales

Domain Name Journal logoCar.info was the biggest reported sale on the Domain Name Journal chart of top reported sales for the week ending 29 March. The domain sold for $76,000 through Sedo, an even $10,000 ahead of the second biggest sale, import.com, in a sale through Heritage Auctions. And goliath.com came in third, selling for $60,000 through Flippa.

Sedo was the biggest sales outlet for the week, with 17 of the top 21 sales (there was a tie for 20th place). And on the TLD side of things, there were 16 .com sales and one each for .info, .net, .me, .co.uk and .de.

Three Week Run of Six-Figure Sales Comes to an End

Domain Name Journal logoA run of three weeks with six-figure sales topping the Domain Name Journal chart of top reported sales came to an end in the week ending 15 March. The top sale for the week was therecroom.com, which sold for $89,888 through Sedo’s marketplace.

Coming in second was videos.de, selling for €50,000 ($53,000), also through Sedo, while rsl.com came in third, selling for $45,000 through HeritageAuctions.

Overall there were 15 .com sales, two for .de and one each for .dk, .us and .me.

And there were 14 sales brokered by Sedo and three through Flippa.

Third Week of Six Figure Sales Topping Charts

Domain Name Journal logoFor the third week in a row, a six-figure domain name sale has topped the Domain Name Journal chart of top reported sales for the week ending 8 March.

The top selling domain for the week was luxe.com, which sold for $172,500, more than $100,000 above the second biggest sale, generational.com, which sold through Sedo in a $70,000 sale. And third was smartwatches.com, again through Heritage Auctions, in a $35,000 sale.

The two Heritage Auctions sales helped push the total revenues from the Heritage Auctions live event at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel past the $1.2 million mark, with 18 of the 27 names offered now having changed hands, according to Domain Name Journal.

On the aftermarkets, there were 15 sales through Sedo and another two through Flippa. And on the TLD side of things, there were 15 .com sales and one each for .gr, .co, .de and .net.

Two Six-Figure Domain Sales Close Out 2014

Domain Name Journal logoThe sale of 345.com and rides.com for $800,000 and $120,000 respectively topped the last Domain Name Journal chart for 2014. The domains were sold by MostWantedDomains and Flippa.

Coming in third was tv.ae, selling for $95,000, and fourth was wohnung.de selling for €74,000 ($87,320), both through Sedo to round out the top reported sales for the two weeks ending 4 January 2015.

There was also a nice internationalised domain name sale (schlüsseldienst.de), which sold for €35,000 ($41,300) while alqabas.com sold for KWD11,000 (Kuwaiti Dinar – $37,400) through KuwaitNET.

There were also a few more notable ccTLD sales. Dieta.it sold for €39,240 ($46,303) through Nidoma, lotto.ph sold for $25,000 through Sedo and jobs.se sold for €15,990 ($18,868) also through Sedo.

Overall there were 31 .com sales in the top 40, given the chart was for two weeks as well as two .de sales and one each for .ae, .it, .ph, .org, .se, .net and .nl.

In the aftermarket side of things, there were18 sales through Sedo and 13 sales through NameJet.

QNB.COM Tops Weekly Chart In Million Dollar Sale

Domain Name Journal logoFor the fourth time in five weeks, a seven figure sale has topped the Domain Name Journal list of top reported sales for the week ending 7 December. This time it was qnb.com was bought by the Qatar National Bank from a smaller Pennsylvania based bank, QNB Corp., for $1 million.

And coming in equal second, peering a long way through the light, were apps.mobi, chairman.com and restaurantuniforms.com, each selling for $20,000 through Addora, Flippa and Sedo respectively.

There were 19 .com sales on the top 20 while there were 13 sales through Sedo and four by Flippa.

It’s Almost Love As LOV.COM Tops Sales Chart

Domain Name Journal logoThe three-letter domain lov.com topped the Domain Name Journal chart of top reported sales for the fortnight ending 2 November, selling for a lovely $91,800 through NameJet.

Coming in second and third were rsr.com and coin.org, both selling for $75,000 through Heritage Auctions and Domain Guardians respectively. And sponsored.com came in fourth, selling for $50,200 through Flippa.

Overall there were 30 .com sales in the chart covering two weeks. There was also one each for .org, .in, .ch, .co, .de, .biz, .es, .eu, .com.au and .club.

And on the aftermarket outlets there were 18 sales through Sedo, 12 through NameJet and four through Flippa.
