Domaining Europe Returning to Valencia in 2018

Domain Europe 2018 is returning to Valencia after a foray into Berlin in 2017. Organiser Dietmar Stefitz had investigated heading to Rome for the 2018 event however costs were prohibitive for hotels. So back to Valencia they go from 7 to 9 June!

The conference will be held in the usual Valencia hotel, Hotel Sorolla Palace, with single rooms available for €80 and €90 for doubles, which includes taxes and a superb breakfast buffet. Hotel bookings should be made through the hotel website entering the Code DOMAINING2018.

Information on the conference itself is available through the conference website, but the agenda and speakers haven’t yet been announced. Conference tickets are now available starting at €395 (+€82.95 VAT).

In celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the conference, Dietmar is promising a lot of fun, and with the great weather he’s promising, wonderful networking activities, making new friends and closing deals, Domaining Europe 2018 is promising to be a must attend event.

Domaining Europe Conference to Feature Whiskey.com In Undeveloped Auction

The upcoming Domaining Europe conference is set to see some big domain names up for auction, including whiskey.com and gastronomy.com.

The whiskey.com domain name is set to go for a big seven-figure sum given the sale of whisky.com in 2014 for $3.1 million. Whiskey and whisky are the same thing, with the former common in Ireland the United States while the latter is used in all other whiskey producing countries.

In addition to the above 2 domains, sevilla.com, harddrives.com, zut.com and the recently released 5.at, which sold for €9,200 when it was auctioned for the very first time when nic.at sold over 350 short domains through auction, domains that were released for the very first time.

As well as the auction, there are speeches from Verisign, Rolf Larsen on “What Can a Registry Do for Domain Investors?”, a Healthy Domain Report panel moderated by eco’s Lars Steffen, a panel looking at top level domains, how to make money from keyword domains, internet governance, a presentation on the success of .club, how brands are using their TLDs and a Verisign insight on their .cc and .tv, among quite a few others.

Tickets are still available for the Domaining Europe 2017 conference, which will be held in Berlin from 14 to 17 May. The conference is aimed at domain industry professionals, investors and anyone interested in the industry. Currently conference tickets are available for €395 plus VAT (including catering) or VIP tickets that additionally include side events and a sightseeing boat trip, with €100 going to the Charity for Hope Children Centre, are available for €650 (plus VAT).

Domaining Europe Goes To Berlin In May 2017 For Focus on Monetisation And Marketplaces

domaining-europe-2017-logoDomaining Europe, one of Europe’s largest domain name conference, is packing its bags and heading to the German capital, Berlin, from 14 to 16 May, 2017 and is going back to its roots and focussing on domain name monetisation and marketplaces.

Domaining Europe is described as an event, where many Top Level Decision makers from the global domain industry meet, make business and share new tendencies, tools and knowledge. It enables the communication between registrars, registries and most importantly registrants. The shape of the domain name market is changing on a global scale with new top-level domains launching every week. How does this affect the local domain market and specially the ccTLD’s and geo-domains.

The 2017 event is being held with support from the German internet association, eco. Early Bird tickets are available until 15 December for €350 plus fees and taxes. Undeveloped Extends its May auction and announces landmark new gTLD auction

Domaining Europe Update: Undeveloped To Host Unique Domain Auction

Domaining Europe May 2016Domain name marketplace Undeveloped has announced it will host a unique domain name auction in cooperation with Domaining Europe, which runs from 24 to 31 May.

“We’re auctioning 150 domains including the 5 most premium domains in the following extensions .com, .de, .uk, .nl, .es and the .it extension that were never before offered to the public. We’re really looking to auction of the crème de la crème domains out there.“ said Reza Sardeha, Undeveloped’s founder and CEO.

Chinese end-users and domain investors will be very happy to learn that the domains 43.com & 866.com will be exclusively available at the auction. For the Dutch market Hotel.nl and Geschenken.nl (Gifts) will give end-users a unique opportunity to own these premium domains and develop them.

Updates on Domaining Europe As Conference Just Four Months Away

With four months to go until the Domaining Europe 2016 in The Hague, the organisers have given an update on presentations, panels and sponsors.

In an email from organiser Dietmar Stefitz, he said that Braden Pollock will again moderate this year’s event which will be held from 29 to 31 May. The .club registry CMO Jeff Sass has also agreed again this year to sponsor and participate supplying gadgets for a raffle which will be held after Monday’s lunch on Monday. Simon Puppo from DomainSponsors is also already on a buying trip for the best worldwide gadgets that attendees can win.

Parkingcrew, Sedo and MrDomain also have signed up already as sponsors.

Monday will be the DOTCOM day, which will be hosted by Verisign. For the not-.com day on Tuesday a host is still being sought.

On other presentations, Michael Gilmour may be giving a presentation on Monetisation and Domain Portfolio Management.

There will also be a number of Speciality Panels that are being prepared and speakers are still being sought, including:

  • the importance of Geo-Domains
  • community and brand gTLDs
  • cooperation between ccTLDs and new gTLDs.

So far Ingrid Baele, Head of IP at Philips, will participate in a brand panel and will explain how they are going to use .philips.
