MusicVideos.com Top Weekly Domain Sale

There were two six-figure domain name sales in Domain Name Journal’s list of reported sales in the week to March 14. The top seller was musicvideos.com, sold by Sedo for $250,000.

Next was optimize.com, sold for $115,000 and then the first country code sale for the week, gold.co.uk for £42,050 ($64,000).

Sedo had seven of the top ten sales with, in addition to the number one sale, also had positions three, five, six and then eight through to 20.

Guns.com Shoots To Top Weekly Domain Name Sale

Guns.com was the top reported sale in the week to March 7 on Domain Name Journal’s weekly list of domain name sales, selling for $800,000. The sale was far bigger the second top sale, guagua.com, which sold for $100,000.

The top country code Top Level Domain sale was risultati.it at number five, which sold for €32,000 (~$43,500).

Sedo accounted for seven of the top ten sales and eleven of the top 20, while Moniker had two sales in the top ten including guns.com.

Metal.com Biggest Sale of the Week

Metal.com is the biggest seller in Domain Name Journal’s list of top reported domain name sales in the week to 28 February, selling for $165,000.

Second was stockprices.com ($60,000) and both were sold by Sedo as were five of the top ten and twleve of the top 20.

Top country code sale as furniture.co.za ($33,000).

$1m Poker.org Sale Tops Domain Sales in Recent Weeks

Domain Name Journal logoThe sale of poker.org for $1 million was the biggest sale in the three weeks to 21 February according to Domain Name Journal’s list of reported domain name sales. The sale was the largest .ORG sale ever with the previous record being engineering.org, sold several years ago for $198,000.

Other big sales over the last three weeks included Biking.com ($215,000), LoanCalculator.com ($215,000), CashUSA.com ($100,000), 46.com ($80,000), Fly.co.za – the largest country code sale over the three week period and golflessons.com ( both for $65,000).

Country Code Domain Name Sales Do Well

In the week to 17 January, there were three sales of domain names to top the $100,000 mark in Domain Name Journal’s list of top reported sales – partysupplies.com ($360,000), free-sms.de (€115,000 / $162,150) and homerun.com ($131,299).

Interestingly, six of the top ten sales were country code domain names from a range of ccTLDs (.RU, .ZA and two each from .CA and .DE). There were another three country code names in the top twenty sales – one from .EU and another two from .DE and nine .COM names.

Credit.fr leads First 2010 Domain Sales Chart

Domain Name Journal logoCredit.fr could be giving someone a migraine as it topped the Domain Name Journal’s first weekly sales charts for 2010 selling for €587,500 (around $843,000) comprehensively beating migraine.com into second place, which sold for $125,000. FirstNationalBank.com ($69,100) and MySports.com ($60,000) were the next biggest sales in the week to 10 January.

Two internationalised domain names made the top 20 list – Südtirol.eu (€9,900 / $14,200) and Möbel.eu (€9,100 / $13,100).
