Domain Name Journal logoAlthough a bit behind in reporting on Domain Name Journal’s sales lists for 2011, the list of reported domain names sales sees SoulMate.com topping the list for $100,000 through AfternicDLS, the only six-figure sale for week to 9 January.

Sales of .COM names filled the top four places, and unusually a COM.AU name took fifth place with electricity.com.au selling for $34,000 through Netfleet.

Sedo had a quiet week when it came to the top 20 sales filling only nine places. Sales of .COM names took nine places while ccTLDs took five places.

In the sales for the week, Domain Name Journal also comments on the sale of FB.com that Facebook bought from the American Farm Bureau Federation in November for $8,500,000 along with at least one other unnamed domain sale. As Domain Name Journal only reports on sales of individual domains and the exact price of FB.com cannot be determined, this sale is not included in any list.

But ‘if the exact figure had been broken out, that sale almost certainly would have ranked as fourth biggest all cash sale reported since we started tracking the aftermarket over seven years ago (behind only Sex.com at $13 million, Fund.com (just under $10 million) and Porn.com at $9.5 million).”
