Effective August 1, 2008, Bentley will transition out of his operational role at Sedo, but will remain close to the company in a non-operative role as Strategic Advisor.
âTogether with Sedoâs founders, Matt has played an important role in helping Sedo become the recognized, global domain marketplace leader it is today,â said Tim Schumacher, CEO and co-founder of Sedo. âMatt will no doubt continue to be a tremendous asset to Sedo in his new advisory role. We thank him for his years of dedication and wish him success in his future endeavors.â
Bentley joined Sedo in 2002 as Director of International Operations, and one of the first dozen employees at the company.
He played a central role in helping to expand Sedo’s global footprint outside of Germany, in particular by launching (together with Sedo Co-founder and President Ulrich Essmann) Sedo’s U.S. subsidiary company Sedo.com, LLC in 2004. Bentley served as CEO of Sedo.com for two years before returning to Germany to assume his current role.
Bentley also played a key role in shaping Sedo’s successful domain parking product, forging one of the industry’s first parking partnerships with Google, and managing the launch of Sedo’s premium brand for domain professionals, SedoPro.
