Thereâs money in ringtones, including the domain name RingTones.com, which sold recently for $750,000 through Sedo according to Domain Name Journalâs list of top reported domain name sales in the week to 12 December.
The sale was one of a quartet of domain names selling for over the $100,000 mark. The others were decide.com, kf.com and temps.com that sold for $175,000, $123,504 and $117,650 respectively.
Overall Sedo accounted for eleven of the top 20 sales for the week. AfternicDLS was responsible for four sales, including one in conjunction with YummyNames.
The top ccTLD sale of the week was AlbumPhoto.fr (â¬28,106/$37,381) while there were unusually two .AU names in the list, hardware.com.au ($32,833) and CurrencyConverter.com.au ($27,500), sold by Drop.com.au and Netfleet.com.au respectively.
There were 16 .COM domains in the top 20 list, including the top seven, one .FR (dr.org), one .FR and two com.au.
