The northern summer holidays have seen some quiet weeks when it comes to the big domain name sales and for the second week in a row no sale has topped the $50,000 mark. The biggest sale for the week ending 8 September on the Domain Name Journal chart of top reported sales was growingpower.org which sold for $45,999 through SnapNames.
Coming in second and third was dynamicinsight.com, which sold for $28,500, and enjoytravel.com, which sold for $25,300, through DomainMarket and Uniregistry respectively.
Despite not taking out the top spot, .com still dominated the top-level domains with 18 of the top 21 sales â there was a tie for 20th place â while there were 2 .org sales and one for .net.
On the aftermarket side of things there were 8 sales through Uniregistry, 5 through NameJet plus another at the NameJet/ROTD NamesCon Europe Auction, 4 through Sedo and 2 through SnapNames.
