For a little while at the beginning of the year, online shoppers tentatively started filling their virtual shopping carts. But they have cut back once again this spring — especially the older and wealthier people.As a result, e-commerce sales were flat at $31 billion in the first quarter, comScore reported. That comes after a dismal holiday shopping season that reversed many years of double-digit increases in online spending.
