[news release] ICANN Monday announced that applications for the NextGen@ICANN program at ICANN72 are now being accepted.
ICANN wants to hear from regional university students who are interested in the future of the Internet and participating in the ICANN72 Annual General Meeting. ICANN72 is scheduled to be held in Seattle from 23 to 28 October 2021. If ICANN72 is held as a virtual meeting, all NextGen@ICANN program activities will be conducted online.
If you are an undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral student between the ages of 18 to 30 and living and studying in the North American region, you may be eligible to become a member of the NextGen@ICANN program.
The NextGen@ICANN program application window will remain open until 24 May 2021. Successful candidates will be announced 21 June 2021 on the ICANN website.

ICANN’s mission is to help ensure a stable, secure, and unified global Internet. To reach another person on the Internet, you need to type an address – a name or a number – into your computer or other device. That address must be unique so computers know where to find each other. ICANN helps coordinate and support these unique identifiers across the world. ICANN was formed in 1998 as a not-for-profit public-benefit corporation with a community of participants from all over the world.
