The internet should remain “open and healthy” for the sake of emerging businesses and information distribution, Jon McNerney, chief operating officer at the Internet Society, told the Guardian today.McNerney’s warning about the importance net neutrality follows the “internet treaty” proposal presented at the Internet Governance Forum earlier this month which, if enacted, would enshrine the principle that all internet traffic is treated equally into law.
