.na regulatory workshop deals with ccTLD admin

A workshop to discuss the regulatory framework surrounding the administration of Namibia’s ccTLD was held on 20 September in Windhoek.According to Namibia’s New Era, the workshop aimed “to prepare a strategy to deal with the administration of Namibia’s country code domain, the .na Internet domain.”Organisers of the workshop were after input from all interested stakeholders such as “existing ICT alliance members, Afrispa represented by Eric Osiakwan, the ICT industry as a whole and existing public end-users of .na.” The article also claims, “Industry sources that wish to remain anonymous say controversy has surrounded Namibia’s domain for a number of years now.”For a background on the .na country code and the people behind it, there is more in the New Era story at www.newera.com.na/page.php?id=3750.
