Most Australionline sales ‘made on domestic sites’

An in-depth study of online shopping trends in Australia has thrown into disarray common perceptions about consumer spending.The NAB Online Retail Sales Index found that online sales accounted for only 4.9 per cent of retail spending last year.Moreover, it found that almost three quarters of online sales in 2011 were made with domestic retailers and the remaining 27 per cent with overseas-based retailers.
