While some customers couldn’t rely on Best Buy to deliver their goods on time for the holidays, mobile app stores didn’t disappoint. Christmas day downloads of Apple iOS and Android apps more than doubled compared to years past, shattering records, according to a report.Thanks to a huge spike in app downloads on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Apple’s App Store is on track to reach 10 billion downloads this year alone, and Google’s Android Market has exceeded 10 billion downloads over all, according to estimates from Flurry, a mobile analytics firm.
