The total dollar value of domain name sales in the first quarter of 2010 declined 18 per cent compared to the same quarter in 2009, but the median (where half are below and half above) price increased slightly according to statistics compiled by Domain Name Journal.The report shows that the total dollar value was influenced by the lack of high value domain name sales when compared to the equivalent quarter in 2009. In 2009 the three top sales totalled $8.56 million (Toys.com – $5.1m, Fly.com – $1.76m, Auction.com – $1.7m) while in 2010 the equivalent sales totalled $2.95 million (Flying.com – $1.1m, Poker.org – $1m, Credit.fr – $851,000).To read the entire analysis of sales, see:
