Iran’s uprising plays out online

Brute force may have crushed the street protests, but Iran’s uprising is continuing online. Foreign Correspondent’s Eric Campbell reports. It’s 9pm in a small Sydney apartment and a group of young Iranian-Australians are tapping into the revolution.Six friends, all in their 20s and early 30s, are emailing contacts in Tehran to get the latest news from the streets.”I’ve been reading tweets that said to me ‘this hospital has been guarded, don’t bring any injured to this particular hospital’,” Negar Salbek tells the others. Then she types the information into the Twitter website, so people who aren’t aware can read it across Iran.
