IOC to challenge internet censorship in Beijing

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is planning to lobby the Chinese Government to improve internet access after the Chinese Olympic Committee declared it will censor the internet during the Games.A key platform of Beijing’s successful Olympic bid was to improve human rights and provide media freedom during the event.Internet access is very slow in Beijing and many websites including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch are currently blocked.
