ICM Announces the Sale of Mobile.xxx for $160,000

With the increasing growth of accessibility to adult entertainment on hand held devices, one of the most valuable, industry-specific and targeted domain names has been acquired by European mobile experts SGM Media GmbH, the “SexGoesMobile” company.

The announcement from ICM Registry, the operators of the .XXX top-level domain, highlighted Bremen, Germany-based SGM Media’s commitment to invest significant time and resources into developing Mobile.xxx into a destination for accessing adult entertainment. Mobile.xxx, which SGM acquired for $160,000, will provide live cams, video, and dating in 10 languages, among other adult-oriented content. The site will be dedicated to providing the first all-encompassing .XXX destination for mobile devices.

Mobile.xxx owner, SGM Media, has also acquired 350 additional .xxx domains for its affiliate network.

Of the last 5 million visits to ICM Registry’s Search.xxx search engine, 18% were from mobile devices and “mobile” is proving to be an increasing popular search term.
