ICANN75 And ICANN76 To Be Held In Kuala Lumpur And Cancún

ICANN announced Friday their 75th public meeting, and annual general meeting for 2022, will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 17 to 22 September 2022 and their 76th public meeting and community forum will be held in Cancún, Mexico, from 11 to 16 March 2023.

The Annual General Meeting, to be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, follows ICANN68, that was originally scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur in June but instead became a virtual meeting only because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Likewise with Cancún, ICANN was initially scheduled to hold ICANN67 in the tourist city, but it too was turned into a virtual meeting.

Assuming the global pandemic isn’t causing havoc with global meetings and travels in two years, it will be the second ICANN meeting in Kuala Lumpur following ICANN20 in July 2004 and while these will be the first meetings in Cancún but follows ICANN34 that was held in Mexico City.

Upcoming ICANN meetings scheduled, and subject to change due to the global pandemic, are ICANN70 from 20-25 March 2021 in Cancún, Mexico, ICANN71 (14-17 June 2021 in The Hague, Netherlands), ICANN72 (23-28 October 2021 in Seattle, USA), ICANN73 (5-10 March 2022 in San Juan, Puerto Rico) and ICANN74 which will also be held in The Hague from 13-16 June 2022.
