ICANN has named Xavier Calvez as its interim Chief Financial Officer while they await board confirmation of his appointment.
Calvez comes to ICANN from the Technicolor Corporation, where he has worked for the past nine years, serving most recently as the Chief Financial Officer of the companyâs Creative Services Division in Los Angeles.
The ICANN Board of Directors, as per the organisationâs bylaws, must confirm Calvezâs appointment as Chief Financial Officer, which it is expected to consider in the coming weeks.
Calvez is a citizen of France, where he was born, raised and educated. He holds that countryâs highest professional accounting and auditing designation, equivalent to the American Certified Public Accounting (CPA) designation.
âXavier Calvez fits our needs perfectly,â said Rod Beckstrom, President and Chief Executive Officer. âWhen you combine his financial expertise with his international experience, itâs clear that he will make a strong CFO for our organisation as well as our community.â
Prior to joining Technicolor, Calvez began his career working for the audit firm KPMG and later Deloitte where he expanded his financial and managerial skills.
âI am eager to use the international financial and managerial experience I acquired to help ICANN continue its vital mission,â said Calvez.
Xavier Calvez began his new position on 8 September at ICANNâs headquarters in Marina del Rey, California.
