Newsweek has published their 2009 Green Rankings that ranks the top 500 American companies according to their environmental records. In 2009, HP and Dell were ranked one and two respectively. Other technology companies in the top ten are Intel (4) and IBM (5) while Apple comes in at a lowly 133rd.Other technology companies in the top 50 were Sun Microsystems (14), Sprint Nextel (15), Adobe Systems (16), Advanced Micro Devices (17), Motorola (21) and Microsoft (31). Other notable technology companies include eBay who comes in 76th, Google 79th and Verizon 101st.To attain its list, Newsweek worked with environmental researchers KLD Research and Analytics, Trucost, and CorporateRegister.com to rank the 500 largest U.S. companies based on their actual environmental performance, policies and reputation.To see Newsweek’s environmental ranking for the top 500 American companies, see:
