The current holders are expecting a sale of “way over US$50 million” according to Joshua Bourne from FairWinds according to a Red Herring report.Uses for pharmacy.com, undoubtedly a premium name for the pharmaceutical industry, according to the announcement, are redirection to an existing domain, an online pharmacy, public education and a direct navigation landing page for pay per click advertising. I’d guess the first two options are most likely.FairWinds have been targeting potential buyers sending out emails alerting of the domain’s availability. There’s a fair amount of evidence to suggest they are spruiking the name and getting people’s interest by suggesting a sale of $50 million plus. Especially when one considers sex.com and porn.com sold for around $12 million and $9.5 million respectively. And porn is bigger business online than pharmacies or pharmaceuticals!
