Germany opposes Google Street View switch-on

The German government is holding meetings today to discuss concerns over Google’s Street View mapping service.It comes as the German newspaper Der Spiegel reports that “several hundred thousand” people have opted out of the service over privacy concerns.The search engine giant extended the deadline until 15 October, allowing people to opt-out of its Street View mapping service.Google wants the mapping service of 20 German cities live by November 2010.
