Top reported domain name sale of the week (8-14 September) goes to a .de domain name for suchmaschinenoptimierung.de (“search engine optimisation”) according to Ron Jackson’s Domain Name Journal. The domain was sold by Sedo and went for â¬84,000 (around US$114,000 today).
Other notable sales for the week were santarosa.com ($75,000 in a private sale) and another .de domain, vector.de, coming in third selling for â¬22,500 and again sold by Sedo.
Only half the top ten sales were .com domains in this week with the other three being a .org (chocha.org – $30,000), strom.info (â¬21,000) and Arizona.net ($20,000).
In the top 20 there were two .uk domains and one .be domain. In all, there were 23 five-figure (US$) sales.
