They never stop. Tasteless domain name speculators are there when any tragedy happens and the disappearance of the Malaysian Airlines flight number MH370 has seen one speculator register the domain name mh370.com as âdozens of companies, families of victims will want to buy it from youâ.
The domain name has been listed for sale on eBay, reported Londonâs Daily Mirror who labelled the act âtastelessâ.
According to the Mirror, the domain appeared âto have been bought up after the flight carrying 239 passengers and crew disappeared.â
âIt then appeared for sale on auction website eBay for a price of about £2,500. The starting bid was about £250.
âA description on eBay said: âBuy this domain today and sell it later on for thousands of dollars. Dozens of companies, families of victims will want to buy it from you.
“âPay little money today and make huge profit tomorrow.â
âSpeaking to That’s Online, the person responsible for registering the domain name said he registered it for âbusiness purposesâ.
âAs you know, many people may be interested in buying this name now. I have already put it for sale on eBay.â
Whether the domain is still on sale is uncertain as a quick search of eBay failed to find the domain listed at the time of writing this report.
