Hecta Media Inc (HCTA.L: News, Chart, Quote ), the web consolidator, said it has exercised its option to acquire the first of two additional portfolios of domain names for a cash consideration of US$734.8 thousands to be financed from existing cash balances.

The domain name portfolio comprises mainly German and other European parked domain names that receive direct navigation and search traffic which can be monetized through search links to generate click-through advertising revenues. Hecta Media believes that the domain names are likely to make a positive contribution to earnings in the current year.
