Cybersquatters Seize on Britain’s Got Talent Contestants

Never letting a chance go by, cybersquatters have seized on the names of the semi-finalists of Britain’s Got Talent, registering the domain names and fake Twitter accounts of 33 of the 40 remaining contestants.Susan Boyle who has become a singing sensation and moved some of the judges to tears in the talent show has been one of the most keenly sought after names. Domain names registered by the unscrupulous cybersquatters have included susanboyle.co.uk, susanboyle.org, susan-boyle.com, susanboyle.fr, susanboyle.de and susanboyle.es, reports London’s Daily Telegraph.The Telegraph reports that only six Co.UK addresses remain unregistered of semi-finalists while only five contestants registered the domain name of their name before the entering the show.The article also says “squatters have also created 18 fake Twitter accounts in the names of the semi-finalists, with only four acts having registered their own account themselves:Brit Chix, Merlin Cadogan, Darth Jackson and Faces of Disco.”To read the article from The Daily Telegraph in full, see:
