The chocolate.com domain name sold in a million dollar plus sale this week, brokered by Buckley Media.
âWhile the exact acquisition price is under a non-disclosure agreement, I am free to tell you that it was in the mid-to-low-seven figures,â said Kate Buckley, CEO of Buckley Media.
So itâs reasonable to assume it could be anywhere up to $7 million, although DNJ speculates itâs in the $3.5-$4 million range.
âChocolate.com is a fantastic domain name,â wrote Elliot Silver on his Domain Investing blog. âNot only is the chocolate industry massive, but Chocolate.com could easily be used as a brand that is totally unrelated to the candy business.â
According to an article on Domain Pulse in 2008, chocolate.com “sold for US$300,000, a much smaller amount than other generic domain names, back in 2005.”
