Chinese espionage posed “the single greatest risk” to U.S. technology, a congressional advisory panel said on Thursday and called for efforts to protect industrial secrets and computer networks.The U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission also called in its annual report to Congress for closer work with China to promote energy security and deal with environmental problems such as climate change and pollution.The panel urged the U.S. Congress to examine “military, intelligence, and homeland security programs that monitor and protect critical American computer networks and sensitive information, specifically those tasked with protecting networks from damage caused by cyber attacks.”
