Chinese Buyers Swoop For Another Six-Figure Domain Sale

Domain Name Journal logoChinese buyers have been prominent in the domain name aftermarket this year, snapping up a number of six-figure purchases including the top reported sale for the week ending 27 July, according to Domain Name Journal.

The top sale was tou.com, which sold for CNY1,200,000 ($194,400) through Fumi.com. And it easily eclipsed the next two sales, lurk.com, which sold for £18,000 ($30,420) and liberty.ch, which sold for €21,000 ($28,140), both through Sedo.

Sedo had a very good week, even with only one notable sale, being responsible for 17 of the top 20 sales.

On the TLD side of things, there were 13 .com sales. The other TLDs to make the chart included .ch, .org, .net, .uk (second level), .it, de and .hr.
