Canada’s Tories pulling back on plans for spam loopholes

[Canwest News] The Conservative government is pulling back on a plan to water down its anti-spam legislation after proposing loopholes earlier this month to make it easier for some marketers to continue to send unsolicited e-mails.Conservative MP Mike Lake, speaking Monday on behalf of Industry Minister Tony Clement, announced the change of heart two weeks after the government proposed exemptions to anti-spam provisions of the Electronic Commerce Protection Act.
