Graphic digital photos of the Burmese regime’s brutal crackdown on monks and democracy activists have started to appear in the West, after the junta restored access to the internet last week.The regime had apparently shut down the internet servers to blind the eyes of world to the beatings and murders that followed mass monk-led demonstrations.The regime – confident the protests have now been crushed – also lifted a curfew in the main city of Rangoon at the weekend, as well as a ban on gatherings of more than five people.
