British companies are twice as likely to ban or restrict the use of social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace compared to their European counterparts, according to new research.It found that 35 per cent of UK businesses refuse to let their staff go online to chat to friends or share photographs, making them the strictest in Europe.In Spain, only 19 per cent of firms have official “social notworking” policies, with the percentage falling even further in Germany (17 per cent), France (17 per cent) and Italy (16 per cent).
