The notion that dark clouds are forming over the future of our digital existence has been most recently voiced by an executive of a major multinational internet corporation.Google’s Vint Cerf sounded the alarm recently during a talk to the American Association for the Advancement of Science.Mr Cerf warned we could be headed for a “digital dark age”, where future access to our records is limited due to irretrievable and unreadable data.Senior lecturer in digital cultures at the University of Sydney, Dr Chris Chesher, is in agreement about the reality of a digital dark age.”It sort of sneaks up on you,” he told 702 ABC Sydney.
