Australians shop online more regularly than people in most other countries, spending on average $206 a month. However, they are also keen virtual window-shoppers who increasingly do their research on the internet but still buy from a traditional retailer.

However, they are also keen virtual window-shoppers who increasingly do their research on the internet but still buy from a traditional retailer.And online shopping is not just for the young. Research from the centre of excellence for creative industries and innovation at the Swinburne University of Technology shows shoppers aged 50-64 have increased online monthly spend in the past four years from $157 to $258.
