More than a decade since the tech sector crash put paid to expectations we’d all soon be living like the Jetsons, retailers are finally getting serious about selling over the internet.David Jones, an early mover who launched a transactional website in 2000 only to shut it down three years later, is now planning an all-singing, all-dancing portal to bring the world of fashion to shopper’s laps, while supermarket Coles is amassing a fleet of 250 refrigerated vans to ensure online shoppers don’t have to worry about their ice cream melting before its reaches their doors.
