Australian politician urges Federal police to act on online betting

The anti-gambling campaigner Nick Xenophon has chastised the Australian Federal Police for dragging its feet on enforcing laws which prohibit online casino sites from accepting bets from Australians.

The anti-gambling campaigner Nick Xenophon has chastised the Australian Federal Police for dragging its feet on enforcing laws which prohibit online casino sites from accepting bets from Australians.As revealed in the Herald yesterday, Australians have long used sites such as PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker even though the Interactive Gambling Act prohibits the provision of ”an interactive gambling service to customers in Australia”. The AFP is now investigating at the request of the FBI.
