Australian National University selected as Australian office for World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)

The Australian office for a major international consortium which oversees internet standards and guidelines will be established at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra.The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), founded in 1994 by the inventor of the internet Sir Tim Berners-Lee, has overseen more than 345 technical standards which make the web work.Its members include technology company giants Microsoft, Apple, Google and Facebook.
