Australian Attorney-General fair use ‘controversy’ as outdated as VCRs

Attorney-General George Brandis describes the Australian Law Reform Commission’s support for citizens’ fair use rights under a reformed Copyright Act as “controversial”.Memo to Mr Brandis: admitting fair use rights over copyright material is an international norm, and unless Australia gets on board now, we’ll be mired in political controversy on a case-by-case basis forever more.
