AusRegistry Adds .NR ccTLD to its Stable

AusRegistry International logoAusRegistry International has added the .NR ccTLD to its stable following an agreement with the Government of Nauru to provide domain name registry services for the .NR country code Top Level Domain (ccTLD).

This makes the fourth ccTLD that AusRegistry International provides registry services for. The others being .AU (Australia), .AE (United Arab Emirates) and .QA (Qatar). They also provided registry services for .SB (Solomon Islands) between 2003 and 2007.

Under the terms of the arrangement with the Government of Nauru, AusRegistry International will provide a complete domain name registry service to ensure continuity of service for existing and prospective registrants of .nr while the Government works to formally take over the management of the .nr ccTLD.

“We are delighted to be able to assist the Government of Nauru in their time of need, and we look forward to building a mutually-beneficial long-term partnership. AusRegistry International is committed to working with small and developing nations, in the Pacific and elsewhere, to help them to realise the full potential of their ccTLDs, which should be regarded as critical national resources,” said AusRegistry International CEO Adrian Kinderis.

The Government of Nauru also intends to assist in building the profile of .NR for the benefit of Nauru.

“We are grateful to AusRegistry International for their assistance in this matter. We plan to continue building the profile of .NR and to develop it as a national asset to be of benefit to all Nauruans,” said the Minister for Transport and Telecommunications, Hon. Sprent Dabwido.
