Music piracy is not as widespread as it is often depicted, sales of compact discs are proving resilient and traditional music stores are not facing extinction, a new survey suggests.More than 70 per cent of the respondents to the online survey had bought CDs in the past 12 months and 62 per cent had purchased music legally from an online store. A surprisingly high number (36 per cent) bought vinyl records in the past year and there was more good news for the High Fidelity crowd: 58 per cent bought their music from traditional record stores.
