Former NSW premier Bob Carr says the arrival of digital book reading devices such as Apple’s iPad make it imperative for the Federal Government to lift bans on book sellers from buying cheap stock overseas.The Apple iPad’s biggest selling point, its e-book and digital textbooks store, won’t be available to Australian users on launch but that should change quickly as the Australian Publishers Association says licensing deals are well on the way to being completed this year.
