Another US spammer hit by CAN-SPAM

[IDG] A US judge has ordered a Las Vegas company to stop making weight-loss and anti-ageing claims and to stop sending spam, the Federal Trade Commission has announced.Judge David Coar of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division, has also ordered Sili Neutraceuticals owner Brian McDaid to pay nearly $2.6 million for allegedly making false advertising claims and sending email messages in violation of the FTC Act and the CAN-SPAM (Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing) Act.

At the request of the Federal Trade Commission, a federal judge has ordered Sili Neutraceuticals, LLC and Brian McDaid to pay more than $2.5 million for making false advertising claims and sending illegal e-mail messages in violation of the FTC Act and the CAN-SPAM Act (Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act).
